Changing conditions at mid elevation. Snyder Lake has a 2-3 ft snow pack, mostly consolidated with some wind deposition and buried facets. Observed strong winds transport in the mid to high elevations out of the East. Spin drift and sluffs on or above most of the ice features on both Mt. Brown and Edwards. Cold temps, dry light snow and cloud cover throughout the day. Other than shallow, unconsolidated snow pack no major rain cruts or instabilities were noted at mid elevations. Temps in the teens to mid 20’s. At least 4 parties mostly foot travel, snow shoe and one party on skis attempting ice climb brain stem but retreated due to weather. Poor skiing conditions for their exit.
