Toured up to Marion Lake today with Gaelen, party of 2. We followed a skinner from yesterday up to repeater ridge. the skinner was blown back in only the top couple hundred feet. We summitted dead dog point and skied down the ridge on the north side and then dropped the lower path above the lake (s facing), The snow surface was not yet effected by the sun. We then skinnned to the head of the lake and up below Peak 7798. On our way to the saddle above we dug a pit at 6600 feet on a Northeast facing aspect. Our results were ECT26 35 cms down. The total depth of the pit was 120 cm. We skied a chute off the shoulder of 7798 back down to the Lake. We observed several small wet loose point releases on sw aspect later in the day. Overall, conditions seem to have settled out where we were and skiing conditions were enjoyable up high, alder at run outs and low snow on hiking trail out.
