Went climbing yesterday in the Snyder Lake basin and on Mount Edwards in Glacier Park. We found a mostly stable snowpack with very little signs of instability. Occassionaly we encountered some very small, dry loose/spindrift avalanches which made the climbing laborious, but otherwise no avalanche activity observed.
Above 6000 ft the snowpack was pretty much composed of facets and generations of old wind slabs. The wind slabs were more widespread above 7500 ft and were completely unreactive as we plodded through them. The snowpack thins quickly below 6000 feet.
Enjoyed mostly dry and calm weather for much of the day, but towards the evening it began to snow (S-1) and SW winds picked up, reaching light to moderate speeds.
