3" of snow fell this morning which appears to be bonding well to the old snow surface. No signs of instability apart from minor cracking in drifted areas. We found good stability on steep terrain up to our high point at 6,000'. Light snowfall and graupel. Winds were erratic with occasional blowing snow.
Traveled from Hungry Horse east toward Essex on Highway 2. Parked along the Highway and started our ascent up Wahoo Drainage toward the lake.
