No signs of instability on Apgars

Went to the windier, weaker snowpack of the Northern Apgars hunting for signs of instability:

• On sunny aspects: No rollerballs or wet loose concerns.  Strong sun this morning softened surface crusts, but clouds increased mid-day and kept the crusts intact.
• On shady aspects: The recent snow was wind affected above 5,000'. We found mostly eroded surfaces, but drifted areas were shallow and unreactive to ski stomps.  Below 5,000', small grained surface hoar formed last night, mostly less than 1mm.  
• The snowpack is shallower and weaker here.  The Feb 8 crust/ Feb 14 facet layer has a more concerning structure than I've seen elsewhere (larger and weaker facets, thinner crust), but it was unreactive in stability tests.  Due to heavy cross-loading and scouring winds the past month, the depth of the crust varied from exposed at the surface to a meter deep under a hard slab.  Given some uncertainty about this structure, we opted to avoid the margins of heavily cross-loaded features, but descended steep terrain with no signs of instability.
• Aside from numerous wet loose avalanches that ran yesterday on sunny aspects, we saw no other avalanche activity.
