Skier triggered deep slab avalanche from kicking cornice. Approx. 7000' on a north aspect.
Upper Skiumah Creek
Intentionally triggered from cornice drop. Failure layer was 1.0-1.5 mm facets (1F+ hard). The slab was at least P hard. The avalanche slid on the Thanksgiving Crust. The crown was 240 cm at its deepest, and it thinned out near rocks.
