Hit an afternoon high pressure window and sledded up past Beta Lake into Alora Ck. Fun supportable pow above 5000 ft. Dug an east facing pit at 5900 ft. Total snowpack 150cm. A couple semi-reactive surface layers. CT8 15cm Q2, CT12 22cm Q2, CT21 35cm Q2, CT22 115cm Q1 just above the Thanksgiving rain crust. The 12/17 freezing rain crust was evident at 100 cm but not reactive. ECTN12 15cm, ECTN14 22cm, ECTN16 35cm, and ECTX on the Thanksgiving rain crust, although we were able to shovel pry it off with a clean shear. So, in this spot the persistent weak layers are obvious but not too reactive. Most of the meter plus slab is fairly stout (1-2 finger). We sledded a variety of slopes and saw no signs of instability.
