More detailed information about the avalanche: 

Very wet, isothermal snowpack up to about 6,500 feet, with a thin refreeze.  At higher elevations, the surface transitioned towards moist snow, and was pinwheeling underfoot.  We observed numerous wet loose and loose avalanches running by mid-morning off of steep, sunbaked slopes, generally D1 to D1.5 in size by the time we left at noon.  We also got a report of a large slab avalanche that ran naturally this morning on the east side of the Park.  (See photos)

There was a widespread wet loose cycle from late last week, mostly D2s, at mid to upper elevations.  (See photos)
