More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Dug a pit to the ground-150cm, on an east facing slope (80deg).  ECTN1 @ 125cm. The top 25cm of new snow failed on the first tap, but did not propogate.  ECTN12 @ 103cm on a thin ice crust.  ECTN30+ @85cm at the early December crust. Triggered multiple loose snow slides, or sluffs, while skiing.  Thin coverage below 6000ft-lots of alder and lightly buried small diameter trees.
