Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

During our first ECT near the end, (ECTP 28) we got the column to propagate and release with some surprising energy.  This happened at around 70 cm at an area of higher density snow with fairly small and infrequent facets as the weak layer.  We were unable to get the column to propagate again but it did fracture at the same interface but not release.  Compression Tests, showed mainly some fracturing in the newer unconsolidated snow near the top of the snow pack.  The rain crust was present lower in the pack and fairly dense but did not show significant instability in our tests.
