More information or comments about the avalanche:

Me and my partner were descending from the top of Jewel Basin Hiking Area towards the Pic-Nic Lakes and then traversing to Black Lake. After my partner descended I took a line to his right and triggered a slide on my second turn, which I could escape skiing to my left. The slide was new snow the basin received in the last couple of days of approximately 8 inches on the top of the ridge. There were more slides on the steeper faces of the ridge, another triggered by a skier all others happened naturaly After that, at lower elevations the conditions were stable.
