Quick couple laps between 3400’ and 6400’ this morning hoping to catch a pretty sunrise Temps just below 40F at the trailhead at 615am and schmooey wet snow up to at least 5000’. Above that we found gloptastic initial skinning conditions with the colder drier snow and some nice settled consolidated powder on N and NE aspects. Due East aspects held a subtle melt freeze sun crust on them (1mm breakable). Wind-exposed slopes near ridge lines held 1F hard wind slabs 6-12”thick overlying some lingering facets. We experienced warm temperatures, light winds (not transporting any snow) and no signs of instability during our tour.
