Traveled up Rescue Creek to Mount Penrose
-down low conditions were crusty everywhere
-above 4500'. Traveled across patches of wind blown storm snow in places but predominantly crust.
-traveling up the east facing valley of Rescue Creek the wind blown snow had a light crust on it until about 500 feet below the ridge. This top 500' section had about 20 cm of light snow with surface hoar.
- when we transitioned to the SW aspect we found sun affect until about 7000' above 7000 feet the sheltered areas held 25 cm deep light snow with 5-8mm surface hoar picture that I submitted was taken in this area.
Above 7500' it was wind scowered with isolated wind slabs
-in sheltered areas surface hoar showed up on all aspects.
