It's up and over for us today - again

Another climb up Mt Brown on a gorgeous sunny day

• No recent avalanche activity and no signs of instability observed.
• Winds were calm to light with no wind-loading.
• There did not appear to be any new avalanches in the south bowl below Brown's summit since I viewed it on Thursday, Dec 3rd.
• We did encounter D2-sized debris on route on the NW face at about 5000'. Suspect this was several days or a week (or more?) old. Unlike the avalanche observed nearby on the 3rd we could not find evidence of a crown further up the route.
• Snowpack on shady aspects and locations near the top of and below the stratus cloud deck was mostly composed of facets and/or old wind slabs with surface hoar on top. Surface hoar growth was more pronounced at low-mid elevations.
• Up higher (above approx 5500') on sunny aspects the snow surface was an ankle/shin-biting crust (we were moving through it late in the day).
