Quick Observation
Nice day touring in the Middle Fork.
We skiied north and northeast facing terrain in Crystal Creek and Cascadilla Creek
Stability was good and snowpack foundation seemed relatively strong here
Widespread wind effect observed near ridgelines as well as midslope in open areas. Wind effect showed evidence of strong north winds blowing upvalley yesterday evening.
On open slopes, we found stiffening punchy pow. Best riding conditions were found in protected terrain, where wednesday's new snow is relatively undistrubed still.
during our exit, we observed moist snow below 4500'
Best character building conditions were found whilst thrashing through the slide alder thickets. Highly recommended.
