Quick Observation
Saw a crown from the valley, couldn't resist:
Overnight temperatures in these parts were above freezing so I aimed to keep things simple and make an exit by noon.
The crown in question was from a large hard slab avalanche (D3R3) triggered by cornice fall. The crown was 250 feet wide and 3 feet deep. The start zone was roughly 8200' on a NE aspect and and ran 1000' vertical. This avalanche ran sometime between Sunday 4/5 and early Tuesday 4/7
While observing the crown, witnessed a D2 loose wet on the same slope.at 11:00
Also noted approximately 10 x D1 slabs on a SE aspect between 10:30 and 12:00.
Omitted Avalanche tab as these slides occured outside the advisory area.
Skiing low-angle trees proved challenging as alternating shade and sunshine made for herky-jerky descent.
