Avalanche mitagation efforts using explosives in Hellroaring Basin at Whitefish Mountian Resort yielded small to medium sized soft slab avalanche activity on West and South aspects in steeper terrain. Crown depths ranged from 6-16" running on the rime crust from several days ago on west aspects and the Christmas Eve crust on south aspects. Many of the slides were large enough (or entained enough snow) to run full path.
