Business on top, scruffy below

Layered snowpack above ~5700 feet on SE-facing slopes. Recent snow on boosh and deadfall below that, with short cracks while skinning. Recent northerly winds have scoured many easterly-northeasterly start zones above ~6000 feet, with scoured snow deposited on southeasterly slopes. No cracking when stomping on drifts. Snow structure generally shallow and weak but no signs of instability. At 6500 ft, NE-facing slope: Height of Snow 60 cm. 3 Melt-freeze crusts interspersed with fine-grained facets. Compression test produced break between upper 2 crusts @~ 30 cm w moderate force. No results in ECT. At ~6450 ft, SE-facing slope: HS ~35 cm. P-hard melt-freeze crust at ground; ~20 cm 4F drifted snow at surface. Between these 2 layers. ~5cm Fist+ faceted grains. Worth watching this structure on similar slopes (open, w few anchors) - PWL above hard bed surface. Partly cloudy late morning. Mostly cloudy by sunset. Cool - temps in the mid 20s at the trailhead; mid teens up high.
