Skiumah N chute

Traveld up to Skiumah Lake today.

• Cool temps at the Trailhead made easier skinning conditions minus the snowshoers layup during a warmer day.
• Once at the lake we noticed large destructive damage on SE facing slopes above the lake bringing trees and dirt piles to the lake shore.
• We climbed up and skied the large North facing chute to the ridge below Penrose summit.
• The surface was suppotable and smooth. We observed older crowns on the NE facing flanks up to 2 feet deep.
• There was minimal greenhouse effect on the N facing slope we climbed, no roller balls.
• There was up to 12 inches of new from last weeks storms at higher elevations (>6000) and it was bonded well to older surfaces, minimalwind effect all the way to ridgeline.
• Holding on to what we got!
