Toured up Fern Creek ridge and skied north slopes. New fairly light ~6-8" of new snow didn't waste any time becoming heavy in the warming temps and sunshine and we got a workout with 10 extra pounds on each ski while breaking trail. (Snow piled up readily under boots, no need for risers). New snow apparently came in without wind as all the trees and branches sported a white coat in the morning, but shed by afternoon. No signs of instability, new snow bonded and we found nice turns and light snow on north facing treed slopes. Apgar upper open ridges had cornices and some wind evidence on east facing.
