Skied opposing NW and S facing chutes off of the Tunnel/Paola Ridge. Did not dig a full pit in the NW chute and enjoyed fun skiing all the way to the Tunnel valley. There was 4-5" fresh snow from Thursday's storm on top of old wind buffed snow. Some small lenses of wind slabs were cracking but not reactive. In the NW chute, there were a few older, small D1 debris piles that only ran off the side walls. Second lap, dug a SE facing pit at 6,400'. HS was shallow at 160cm. Sun crust from earlier in the week was covered by 5-6" fresh snow. The ground hog day crust was not very deep at ~35cm deep. ECTX. Deep facets existed at the base of the snowpack but nothing broke. We expected the S chute to ski poorly but enjoyed spring like turns to the bottom of Paola Creek. Visibility was in and out with occasional light snowfall, clouds, and even sun! <1'' accumulation. We did not observe any other signs of instability/avalanches. Winds were calm to light but picked up out of the west at the ridge top at 4:30p. Old wind slabs were covered by new snow and were stubborn to react to ski cuts and stomping.
