Went for a quick tour up Cascade Creek. Found the stout crust thinning to 5800' before it dissapeared, buried 10~20cm below the surface (depending on elevation). No obvious grey stripe of leftover surface hoar in a few hand pits and one quick pit at ~6000' on a NE aspect.
Widespread and predictable sluffing on decent on slopes up to 35 degrees. Weather was ~15 degrees F, light S winds and it was overcast/obscurred with S1-S2 snowfall for the majority of our outing. No cracking, collapsing, or recent natural avalanches noted. Below 4800', buyer beware...
