More detailed information about the avalanche: 

All chutes close to Gibralter Ridge. Recent activity. Did not appear to be cornice fall. Did not run full length of path. Although lots of tree bombs and pinwheeling on similar slopes. Cracked windslabs on the road from sidehilling. 10-20 cm thick. Expect to be deeper at higher elevations. Dug a pit off the Olney road yesterday and was able to propagate the Jan 28 crust with medium/hard force. And then able to propagate Jan 17 crust with very hard force. (Tap 9 from the shoulder)

Lots of wind affected snow at all elevations. Medium to large cornices hanging above north aspects. Deteriorating snow conditions throughout the day due to warmth. May see a crust develop. Especially on south aspects that the sun will hit.
